In this one, we talk about our experience podcasting so far. Early days so we still have a lot to learn but already after two months, there have been notable positive changes in us both.
Podcasting brings light to all of the weaknesses in your speech. If you talk like everywhere is a library, or like everywhere is a nightclub; or you talk too fast, or if it sounds like you’ve sat on a horse tranquilizer; if you use fillers (‘um, ah, y’know, like, yeah’), if you interrupt or waffle – which we definitely did a lot of in this broadcast :/ – it’ll be stark. If your voice is monotonous rather than dynamic, if you have the vocabulary of a four-year old, if you are a naughty, little potty-mouth, it will soon become apparent! And awareness is the first step in change.
Your voice is key to your ability to communicate yet most of us give little attention to the development of this instrumental tool. Get yourself a powerful, commanding voice and people will listen.
Try podcasting, I’m certain it will improve every aspect of your speech and thereby make you a more influential communicator.
This is The Gentlemen’s Game.
Be well,
Yas.
