James Tusk and Modern Man’s Dating Dilemmas
James Tusk is a London-based dating coach that goes deep down the rabbit hole on game (pickup), dating, relationships, and Tinder in this ep.
His speciality is honest, direct daygame. James Tusks’ brand of daygame involves no cheesy gimmicks. No fluffy hats, magic tricks, or atomic negs. Instead, it is based on straight-forward and authentic masculine confidence (the type our grandfathers had!).
James puts a big emphasis on helping his students develop into respectable men who have their shit together; are confident, emotionally calibrated and can hold their own in any social situation.
And How Does That Make You Feel, James Tusk?
We start the conversation by delving into James’ past and learning about his experiences as the “good-looking guy who didn’t get laid”.
Like many of us, he made the mistake of imagining (or more technically ‘projecting’) that girls judged guys purely on looks. But the reality is, a man is required to bring so much more than looks to the table.
Tusk tells us how blown away he was when he witnessed his first daygame approach and how he became filled with a desire to learn how to meet and attract women during the day.
In order to learn the art of daygame he went to live in the same house as London daygame legends Tom Torero and Jon Matrix. Dedicating himself to overcoming his fears, diving into scary social situations, and mastering the new skillset. James Tusks’ story about his first ever daygame approach (involving a stunner and some stray vomit) is worth the admission price all on its own!
Do Looks Matter?
We go on to discuss how much a man’s looks matter when it comes to attracting women. As James says, out you should be aiming for girls who are hotter than you or what’s the point? She is supplying the looks and you are supplying the masculine charm.
While looks certainly help and give you an ‘in’, they aren’t as important as they are often made out to be. James advocates a holistic approach to an all-around attractive lifestyle that women want to be a part of.
The Dark Side of The Moon
The darker sides of game and the potential psychological pitfalls that men can experience when practising game are not often discussed.
Here we go deep on the potentially addictive nature of daygame. The difficulty of keeping a relationship together when you are a game-aware man. The obsessive-compulsive tendencies that can overtake men when gaming, and the reckless behaviour that daygamers can indulge in.
James Tusk talks about his suggestions for the best way to fit daygame into a healthy, balanced lifestyle. He gives ideas on how to nurture your skills over the longer term without letting daygame take over.
We discuss the different relationship types available – monogamy and polygamy – and how best to go about cultivating the love life you desire.
Finally, we end the conversation with a few great book recommendations from James (linked below).
It was a fantastic chat. Thanks James Tusk!
Enjoy the episode 😉
